• Make sure to fill out the consultation form and answer questions truthfully and thoroughly. Especially when it comes to allergies, medications and products you use or any services you have had done recently. Be as specific as possible.

• Avoid getting waxed/threading 24 hours before your facial. These services can cause sensitivities and a possible reaction to the products used during your treatment.

• Avoid any strong at home facial treatments the week before and any exfoliation treatments a few days prior as this will be done during your facial and I want to avoid over sensitizing your skin.

• Stay out of the sun/tanning bed for a week before your facial, if possible. Sun damage and skin care don’t mix.

Wear clothing that is comfortable and easy to change out of. You will be provided a spa robe to wear during your service.

Avoid wearing a lot of jewelry because most facials include massage and I will be asking you to remove it to avoid getting product in it.

If you just had botox or fillers injected you will have to wait at least 3 days for a regular facial and 5-7 days for the Sculpt, Lift and Relax Massage to avoid the risk of moving the injectable around to the wrong area.

It is preferred you come right before you are due for an eyelash extension fill. The steam, hot towels and products may effect the lash glue and your extensions.

If you plan on working out the day of your facial please do it before. You will want to avoid sweating and a hot shower right after your facial as it can reactivate any enzymes or treatment products used and may irritate your skin.

Avoid make-up for 12-24 hours after. Allow the products used during your facial, time to soak in and work their magic. If you are planning on going to an event then it would be best to schedule your facial a couple of days prior.

If you are dealing with breakouts I recommend scheduling a facial every 3-4 weeks. For maintenance purposes a facial every 4-6 weeks.

Dermaplaning is an effective superficial exfoliation that involves the removal of fine vellus hair (peach fuzz) from the face

PRE CARE INSTRUCTIONS

1. Ensure skin is properly hydrated prior to treatment by drinking plenty of water and using a good moisturizer day and night. Dermaplaning very dry or dehydrated skin increases the risk for the blade catching.

2. 24-48 hours prior to treatment, discontinue using all alpha hydroxy acid products (those containing Glycolic or Lactic acid), Salicylic products, and other acne medications such as Benzoyl peroxide.

3. The following procedures should not be performed for a minimum of 7 days before Dermaplaning: waxing, cosmetic injections (Botox, fillers), Chemical Peels, laser treatments.

4. Discontinue use of Vitamin A products 5-7 days prior to treatment. For prescription Retinoids, discontinue use 2 weeks prior.

5. Avoid direct sunlight or tanning beds 2 weeks prior to treatment.

POST CARE INSTRUCTIONS

1. Mild redness or tightness in the skin can be experienced for the first 24-48 hours post treatment and occasionally light flaking in localized areas. It is extremely important that you do no pick, scratch, pull or rub your skin during or after the treatment. If you do, it may damage underlying new skin, and cause scarring or pigmentation changes. Drink plenty of water and apply moisturizer as needed.

2. For the first 24 hours adhere to the following: avoid chemical hair treatments, sleep on back if possible, a fresh pillow case should be used, avoid excess heat from hot showers, steam rooms, hot tubs or extensive exercise, avoid use of make-up or irritating cosmetics. Do not go swimming for 48 hours post treatment. Chlorine, excess heat and irritating make-up or skin care may cause complications such as hyperpigmentation, rash or unwanted reaction.

3. No waxing, use of AHA’s, BHA’s, Retinoids, perfumes or exfoliation tools for 7 days post treatment.

4. No direct sun exposure or tanning for at least 2 weeks after your treatment. It is absolutely imperative to wear a minimum SPF 30 daily before, during and after Dermaplaning or any advanced exfoliation procedure.
